LaunchVT Business Pitch Competition Entry Deadline Quickly Approaching

LaunchVT is a community initiative powered by the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce to provide entrepreneurs with an opportunity for exposure and real-life experience to start their businesses.

The startup incubator Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies announced its statewide business pitch competition now includes a separate pitch competition for college entrepreneurs, LaunchVT Collegiate.  The LaunchVT Collegiate pitch competition took place on Feb. 19th at Champlain College’s Alumni Auditorium.  The winning collegiate team will receive $7,500 and a special spot in the main LaunchVT competition.

Now entering its fourth year, the LaunchVT competition awards cash prizes to help entrepreneurial winners launch their businesses.   Organizers stated that two 2016 winners will share more than $80,000 in prize money and many mentorship opportunities.  In addition to offering cash prizes, Nick Grimley, co-founder of LaunchVT, said that the pitch competition has helped connect numerous entrepreneurs with support and mentorship opportunities.

If you are an entrepreneur who needs help launching your business, you have until March 13, 2016 to apply by submitting a pitch deck.  LaunchVT is looking for entrepreneurs that can demonstrate:

Likelihood of building a successful business

Scalability: Potential to grow a sizable & meaningful company over time

Potential to generate significant employment in Vermont
